The Forum of Augustus was built by Emperor Augustus in 2 BC. In the centre, there is a temple dedicated to the god Mars.
Trevi Fountain (Fontana di Trevi)
Trevi Fountain is the most famous fountain in Rome, built in the late Baroque style in the 18th century. The central figure is the god Neptune in a seashell chariot pulled by sea horses. According to tradition, if you throw a coin into the fountain over your left shoulder, you will return to Rome. This is one of the most romantic and photographed places in the city.
Spanish Steps (Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti)
The Spanish Steps are one of the most famous staircases in the world, built in the 18th century. They connect Piazza di Spagna (Spanish Square) with the church Trinità dei Monti at the top. In spring, blooming azaleas decorate the steps. At the bottom, you will find the Barcaccia Fountain. This is a popular spot for walking, relaxing, and taking photos.
Altar of the Fatherland (Altare della Patria)
A majestic monument celebrating the unification of Italy, built in honour of King Victor Emmanuel II. Located on Piazza Venezia, it was opened in 1911.
Pantheon
The Pantheon is a temple dedicated to all gods, built in 126 AD. Its dome is one of the largest in the world and has inspired many architects.
St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican
The main church of the Catholic world, located in Vatican City. Built in the 16th century. Inside is the tomb of Saint Peter and the famous dome designed by Michelangelo.
Church of the Most Holy Name of Mary and Trajan's Column
The Church of the Most Holy Name of Mary at Trajan's Forum was built in the 18th century. Next to it stands Trajan's Column (113 AD), decorated with reliefs showing the emperor’s victories.
